Upstate Art Weekend: 7/18/24 - 7/21/24

Shadow Walls is a space in transition. Once full of activity and joy, the beloved former Eva’s farm resort has been long-neglected and awaits restoration towards its former ebullience. A ghost of its former self, its wallpaper and paint peel back to reveal layers of history. Meanwhile, the raw essence and boundless possibilities of the space sharpen the focus on creative processes. Its transitional nature serves as fertile ground for artists’ installations, allowing them to engage with the past and craft visions of a more nourishing and interconnected future.

Exploring themes of life and death cycles, transformation, medicine, magic, nature, loss, the body, space, the cosmos, decolonization and collective liberation each artist creates their own threshold as a means of dreaming into the fecundity of the space.
